I fell in love with a robot
A shiny piece of steel
When he smiled in my direction
I almost thought that he could feel.
He knew just what to say
As if he could read my mind
And I saw my reflection
In the way that metal shined.
When I pulled him closer
I thought I heard a beat
A heart within this robot?
Could he really be so sweet?
But when I opened up his chest
To see what I would find
There was nothing where a heart should be
The heart I heard was mine.
